Claramae Niehouse Hesse, 69, of Littleton, NC went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Friday, February 6, 2009, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Hesse was a native of Marshall County, Iowa, the daughter of the late Carl William Niehouse and Clara Helen Schultz Niehouse. She was a graduate of Marshalltown High School and attended the University of New Mexico. Mrs. Hesse was a loving, faithful Navy wife to her husband of 51 years, Gerald "Gerry" Hesse.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Kathy Taunton and her husband, Dean, of Raleigh, NC; her son, Steve Hesse and his wife, Kris, of Virginia Beach, VA; three grandchildren, Sandy Taunton, Steven Hesse, and Jennifer Hesse; and one brother, Kenneth Niehouse and his wife, Anita, of Marshalltown, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2009 at Lakeside Lutheran Church with Rev. C. Frederick Eichner officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
